Peninsula Lake, ON - Aidan R

It was the summer of 2019, and my family and I were traveling to Deerhurst Resort on Peninsula Lake. After getting settled into our hotel, we headed down to the beach. It was pretty late in the afternoon but the sun was still shining and the air was still warm. As I approached the lake, I could feel the cool waves splash against my feet. The beautiful blue, shining water with the illuminating orange sky above was a scene I will cherish in my memories. The beach was mostly vacant, but there were still a few bright and colorful towels laying on the sand, occupied by a couple families who were happily playing and swimming around. I started walking along the shoreline of beach when I came across a flock of ducks just floating gracefully around not too far from where I was standing. The ducks were peaceful and were enjoying the fresh water they were swimming in and occasionally diving under. I walked further down the beach The water was as calm as it had been all afternoon and the sky was still a beautiful orange but was getting darker and just a sliver of the sun was peeking out from the trees on the other side of the lake. I started to stroll back to where we had originally set up to meet with my little brother.

That day was one of the best experiences of my summer and that lake was the greatest thing about it.
