Devil’s River, Quebec - Connor D

It was a beautiful summer’s afternoon. I was at the Mt.Tremblant resort for the first time ever and we were to go kayaking on the Devil’s River. After I got my life preserver on, I approached the sparkling water with my family. The water was mesmerizing to look at, and the sun’s rays pierced the water. My family and I boarded the kayaks and set out down the river. We didn’t have a destination in mind, but we enjoyed the journey nonetheless, and to put it simply, we had fun!

Listening to the sounds of the paddles hitting the water, I felt at peace. The sky was blue, and everyone was happy. A small trail of rushing water followed behind us, from where the boat had temporarily pushed it out of the way, and the ripples became smaller and smaller. After our time on the water expired, we finally disembarked from the kayaks. They were just pieces of bent polyethylene, but on the water, they were the catalyst to an adventure.
