Lake Massawippi, QC - James S

I have been going to lake Massawippi in the Eastern Townships of Quebec every year since I was little. The lake was formed by a glacier. On one side, there are mountains that drop to underwater caves that are as deep as 300 feet. On the other side it is very shallow and weedy.

When you look under water it is bright and sparkly until you get to the dark drop off. Down the lake, there is a point called black point were we camp out and fish. Me and my friends always find good places to jump from into the water last year we found a 15-meter cliff to jump from and we have been going there every summer. The lake is home to many species of fish and some even believe the Massawippi monster.
