Shubenacadie Grand Lake, NS - Davia B

My Watermark occurred in late July of 2018. My family and I had gone camping at Laurie Provincial Park on Shubenacadie Grand Lake in Nova Scotia.

We had decided that evening to head out for a walk when we came across a lovely view of the ocean protected by a guardrail so that no one would fall in the water. We stopped for a while and then moved along because all we’d seen was water on the way there, so it didn’t seem all that interesting. We kept on walking and that was when I saw the most incredible place to view the lake. It was a long rock ledge that looked like the perfect place to put a lighthouse. You could just look out and see the dark blue-black water with the evening sun sending sparkling silver flashes across the surface. It was such a beautiful sight and I would love to go back and see it again. However, I’m not sure if it would be quite the same.

I really think it was just a great place to be at that moment. This is why we need to protect this body of water so that other people will be able to experience moments like this.
