My name is Miriam. My favorite place to swim right now is off of the Toronto Islands – Ward’s Beach. One of my favorite swimming experiences was just going out there with the Waterkeeper Team, with Christian, and All and Mark on a swimmable water weekend. We had a really great time, I was very afraid because I thought the water was very cold, but I warmed up very quickly. I support Lake Ontario Waterkeepers work because for me it was really the mission statement, the swimmable, drinkable, fishable, because I think that it reminds us all about how we are connected to the water and to the planet. If we impede our own ability to do those three things then we are really doing harm to ourselves.
