Hines Lake, ON - Isabella S
When I was young at the lake, I remember how I would run into the lake as though I was being chased. My feet touched the calm, cool, still water and I felt at ease. I could see the sun's light hitting the trees, making them shine. The wind danced with the windchime as it played a euphonious song for all to hear. I remember, sitting on the dock near the middle, keeping still to watch the school of fish. Some fish nibbled at my feet as though they were tasty treats.
When I was young at the lake, I remember hearing the laughter of my family, and noticing the smiles everywhere. I smelled the fries that my uncle was making already drooling with the taste of them; I remember resting by the water, taking in its beauty. When a great blue heron swooped down to get a fish, the heron finally did capture the fish and it made a huge splash with a lot of water.
When I was young at the lake, I remember feeling as happy as can be, outside swimming with my family. I wasn't always happy about jumping into the water. I was nervous to jump off the water slide, but then, my cousin grabbed me and threw me off then jumped in after me. Then, I felt calm and ready to do it again; The water was cool, refreshing, sublime.
At the lake, I remember when I swam with my family and we all raced to get on the inflatable tube so that we could go tubing. We didn't get far, since we all fell into the water as fast as the boat moved. Then, we would swim over to land or to the boat. I will never forget how amazing it was. To be all around the people that I love, and I got to make so many wonderful memories with them. I would always anticipate our tubing adventure and remember how excited I would feel when I saw everyone waiting and trying to get on. It was a magical, wonderful, mystical experience.
