Lac Viceroy, QC -Anil C

When I was young at the lake, I will always remember tubing with my family. Being out on the water was exciting and competitive and fun. I will always remember jumping over a big wave then suddenly falling into the lake. The water was cold, wet, hard on impact. I remember climbing back into the boat, cold and wet and shivering, and my family was laughing and pointing and cheering for me.

When I was young at the lake, I remember taking a fish off of my fishing rod. The fish was slimy and squirming and slippery. I was alone at the dock and caught the fish and had to take it off. The fish was slimy, scaly, spiny and it kept wriggling out of my grip. I remember the stinky, fishy, wet smell of the fish. When I finally got it off the hook and threw it back in the water, I felt happy and satisfied and disgusted all at once. I had these feelings because I was happy at myself for getting the fish off the hook and disgusting because the fish was stinky and slimy and slippery, and satisfied because I took the fish off the hook all by myself.

When I was young at the lake, I remember, feeling calm and relaxed and happy. Our cottage was tucked away in the forest hidden from the world. A sense of calm washed over me as I sat outside on the porch listening to the birds chirp. The squirrels were noisy and excited and fast, while collecting nuts for the winter. The air outside was cool and crisp and breezy.

At the lake, I always remember water skiing. When I was young I would watch my dad water ski. He made it look fun and exciting and adventurous. I will always remember the first time I got up on water skis, it gave me a rush of joy and fright and excitement, while skiing on top of the water. Whenever we went to the lake I always looked forward to going water skiing. For me it felt easy water skiing. On my very first try I got up on the skis then I got excited but my dad thought I had fallen so he stopped the boat and I fell in the water which gave me a shock because it was hard and cold and wet.
