Buck Lake, ON - Emerson G.

The first time I stepped onto the dock I was blown away. The glimmer of the sun’s rays on the water made the whole lake shine. Glorious blues, greens and purples made the water look like a collage of gems and jewels. It even sparkled like precious stones!

The farther onto the dock I stepped, the prettier it became. The greens of the trees mixed with the lake’s blues and the picturesque landscape shone. I felt my feet take off and I bounded across the grey-ing wood. My bare feet leapt from the dock and I plunged into pure bliss. The brisk water was so refreshing from the heat of the summer. As I swam to the surface I knew this is where I would like to spend the rest of my summers, right here.

Even after I exited the water, I couldn’t leave the water’s edge. So I sat and watched the sparkling waves, and I just knew. I knew that I wanted to spend every summer, every spring and fall, even every winter right here. At this lake.
