Lake Moraine, AB - Kate N
When I was young at the lake, the light reflected off the water as I dipped my hands and feet into the surface, occasionally finding rocks to bring home with me. I remember climbing a large mountain of rocks for the sake of getting the best photo of the magnificent, crystal clear, shimmering Lake. In the late afternoon, I chatted with my sisters while taking in the golden brown sky as we walked around the Lake.
When I was young at the lake, I remember feeling the slight stinging sensation in my hands as they began to go numb from the freezing water, but the warmth from the sun heated me. The slight breeze ruffled my hair as I watched the small canoes in the distance paddling along the mountain side, where the light sapphire water collided with the green pine trees. The ripples in the water, the birds chirping, the breeze against my face, they all sang together creating a beautiful melody.
When I was young at the lake,I felt captivated from the moment I saw its light sapphire shine. My feeling of sorrow, regret, and guilt disappeared as if the Lake was comforting me. The mountains along the Lake created a breathtaking view, calming me as a wave of exhaustion hit me from the long day of walking. I remember the feeling of nostalgia growing in my stomach as darkness slowly consumed the sky, robbing the Lake of its glimmer
At the lake, I laid on the rocks and stared into the seamlessly endless, golden brown, soothing sky, observing each different shape of the clouds. The mountains stood silently in the background as their snow coated tops contrasted the colour of the sky. I was overcome with joy, skipping over the rocks and over branches on my walk away from Lake Moraine.
