Lake Whittaker, ON - Luca D
When I was young, at the lake, my family and I would go fishing, using worms and fishing rods while catching fish. We would sit on the benches, in the dock talking, laughing, and enjoying the time. When I sat at the fire, I could see the beautiful purple sky stars, space, and the moon. We would swim with the fish and try to find unique rocks that we could skin against the calm sea.
When I was young at the lake, we would stay up late around the fire making marshmallows for smores and hot dogs for dinner. It smelt so good, I could taste it without having to eat it. When I was falling asleep and everything was quiet, I could hear the soothing sounds of the waves and the crickets chirping. I could feel the crisp on my marshmallow, golden, crispy, delicious.
When I was young, at the lake, I would be excited to go in the water and play games with my family. I would be happy, I could fish with my cousins, brother, and grandpa. I would be excited to play in the water. I was curious to know what my friends were doing, talking, playing, or hanging out. I was exhausted from the long car drive, so I needed some food to get my energy back.
At the lake, I always looked forward to spending time with my family and adventuring off with my cousins. I will always remember when my cousins and I would take a map of the park and wander off by ourselves to find tennis, courts parks, and statues. I remember when we brought a water-filled ball in the water, and it floated, so we played keep away and American football. I will always remember when I would go fishing with my grandpa, my cousins, and my brother, and we would play spike ball with our aunts and uncles. I will never forget how my family and I would always have tournaments to see which team was the best. So far me and my uncle are the champions, we only lost once!
