Lake Ontario, ON - Addy N.

Every summer since I was nine, my family and I have gone camping for three nights.

The summer I was ten, we decided to go to Sandbanks Provincial Park in Prince Edward County. It was our first time and everyone was so excited. We arrived on Friday during the day. My Uncle and two cousins were first to arrive. Second to arrive were my Mom’s cousins. One of my mom’s cousins had two kids which were my second cousins. Her other cousin had three kids which were also my second cousins. So, there were a lot of us! After my mom’s cousins arrived, we got there.

We were last. Once we got there, we spent the night setting up the tents, air mattress, and lights. After that we had a campfire, roasted yummy golden marshmallows.

The next day we spent most of our time riding our bikes and exploring nature. My second cousin who was my mom's cousin's son. Loved to catch frogs. He would catch bright green ones and dark green ones. We ate lunch then played some card games for a long time. It only felt like a half an hour but it was hours so after card we had dinner.

At around 8:30 at night my mom wanted to take pictures of all the cousins at sunset. So after our dinner we walked down to the water to take pictures at sunset. The water was so still, it was like ice. We then decided we wanted to go swimming. But we did not want to go all the way up to the campsite so we went swimming in our clothes. It was an experience I will never forget swimming in the crystal clear water with the beautiful sunset. We were all getting along and I felt so calm.

I will never forget it.
