Toronto Harbour, ON - Mike Wolfs
My Watermark is the Toronto Harbour of Lake Ontario.
Memories of Toronto Harbour date back to my childhood in the late 1970’s, where I recall attentively watching my parents from the shoreline as they water-skied throughout the bay. This was always followed by unforgettable trips to Hanlan’s Point Beach to swim and play around before we had to beat the dark home to the Port Credit harbour.
After a few summers of what seemed like brief day trips to Toronto Harbour, my parents decided that it would be best for all of us to spend the night on the island. Staying overnight meant that we could enjoy the island’s early morning beaches and fishing spots.
As a family of five we enjoyed many years of sailing, canoeing, fishing and swimming in Toronto Harbour. And yet, 40-years later, I still stay over on the island, enjoying the sailing and paddle boarding in its many lagoons.
My hope is that future generations will have their own opportunities to create memories in Toronto Harbour, just as I have and continue to do today.
