My name is Gerard Comerford and I’m originally from St Mary’s Bay in Newfoundland. I’ve been working for McKeil for 3 years, my position is a cook.

My most powerful memory is when we were out on the Atlantic Ocean, out on the Flemish Cap for 58 days. And we ran into a storm for 3 days. Water is important to me because my grandfather was a Grand Banks captain, out on Newfoundland. It’s been in our blood for years.

An opportunity came up to work for McKeil – it’s a good family orientated company and I just took the chance and it’s been great.
