I definitely feel most connected to Lake Opinicon on the Rideau Canal system. My watermark took place 10-15 years ago, when I was in high school. I grew up pretty close to there on a farm. Then when I went from the farm to work it provided a source of income because there was a fishing lodge there. It definitely provided a connection for the local community and provided an economic source.

We usually fish pike and bass and I would clean the fish when the fishermen brought them back. I wasn't a fisherman myself but I definitely helped clean them when they came in.
