My Watermark is Niagara River (above Niagara Falls)

In the 1960’s and early 1970’s water was diverted to Dufferin Islands. Families (ours included) would swim in the natural swimming area and the mini waterfalls. A small forested area led back to the main Niagara River where the derelict barge still sits perilously close to the brink of the falls. Family picnics here at the powerful water’s edge is a prominent memory.
