My name is Paula Archembeau and originally I’m from Halifax, Nova Scotia. The water body that’s most influenced me is the Atlantic Ocean. I was born in Halifax, I was born by the water.

My father was actually in the Canadian Navy and he served there for 23 years on many, many ships. So water is a very important part of my family’s life. I think that memories that I have of growing up on the ocean and my children learning to explore on the ocean is that sense of wonderment at how vast the ocean is. How it changes its personality depending on the weather and how powerful and mighty water can be, that it needs to be respected and it needs to be sustained and valued.
