Lake Ontario, ON - Alisha Woodman
My Watermark is Lake Ontario.
I grew up in Kilbride, didn't really get to the lake as much up there, but we definitely were out on the Bruce Trail playing in the creek, building forts, having bonfires, and feeling that love for nature. Now I'm living in downtown burlington, I live close to the lake, and I try to get out as much as possible.
Today we went on the York boat, it was great, got to do some rowing. Got stuck out on the bay with the wind! It's a little hot – I think it's probably the hottest day of the summer, today – so we decided to go for a swim, jump in the lake.
I think it's really important to take the time to connect with nature and de-connect with technology since it's just so present and everywhere. Just getting out on the lake where it's quiet, the wind is blowing, the sun is shining, and getting out with friends, chatting, and experiencing nature. Being present in the moment.
