Georgian Bay, ON - James Wagar

My Watermark is Georgian Bay, Ontario.

My family comes from Georgian Bay. We have a cottage there, which has been around for generations. I remember being a young boy, and playing in that water. It was fresh, cold, and clear, clear, clear. You can open your eyes under the water, and see glacier boulders three hundred yards away. You can swim out to those glacial boulders and dive off of them for the rest of the day.

However for the generation after mine, it was not the same. This was mainly because of overdevelopment, with cottages expanding in size, and people wanting to grow grass on sand (using fertilizers and pesticides). Now when my God-kids swim there, they come out of the water with sores on their face.
