My Watermark is Lake Simcoe, Ontario.

I worked on a contract with the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Aurora District office. We captured musky on Lake Simcoe. It was the first sampled juvenile musky since 1968.

If you don’t know already there is a huge reintroduction of Muskies occurring (The Lake Simcoe Project), which has been running since the early 2000’s. There are many partners and stakeholders involved.

It is a bit of a success story because when we DNA tested the fish, the juvenile muskies which were captured, matched the fish from the stocking projects they have been working on.
