Kalamalka Lake, BC - Caitlyn Borrows

My name is Caitlyn Borrows and I am from originally from Surrey, BC. Lake Kalamalka is a beautiful freshwater lake in the Okanagan area of BC.

I’d have to say it is my favorite water body. I remember very vividly the first time I saw it. I was probably 8 or 9 years old. I remember looking and being almost confused because the water is not one colour. Kalamalka actually comes from an Indigenous language and means many colors. Kalamalka is purple, blue, green… you can see so many colours in it. It’s just a really unique water body.
