My name is Tanis Rideout and originally I was born in Belgium and grew up in Kingston, Bermuda and now live in Toronto, Ontario. The water body that has influenced me is the Atlantic Ocean, specifically Daniel’s Head, Bermuda. It was at Daniel’s Head, Bermuda when I was about 10 years old that I first learned to snorkel and scuba dive.

It was the first place where I really got to see underwater life. I saw my first moray eel there, my first jellyfish there, my first Portuguese man o’ war there, my first barracuda, sea cucumbers, I could go on and on and on. And it’s sort of stuck with me ever since!
