Great Slave Lake, NT - Shelby Yee

My Watermark is Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories.

I did a canoe trip from Yellowknife to Baker Lake, Nunavut. It was 52 days in the arctic, and 1400 km. It was amazing. Everyday was spent on the water, on a canoe. The distance you travel in a day really depends.

One day we would travel 800 meters and some days (i.e, while on the Thelon river) we made 68km with the current. It was amazing. This was with camp Wanapunte. Every summer they send two groups up to the arctic to do 60 day trips. They are also big advocates for keeping areas un-dammed and protected.
