Grand Bend Beach, ON - Shareen J
When I was young at the beach, I remember lying down on our floral mat,
sand sticking to my Wet and tanned and burnt skin as I stared up at the
clear sky. My mom stood over me, her camera in my face as she made me pose
for photos, I recall my Whiny protests, wanting to swim solely in the
crashing waves nearby instead of playing model for her Facebook posts online.
She ignored my complaints, concentrating as she snapped multiple photos of
me. My mom had been so focused that she didn't realize When a bird from
above had pooped on the back of her denim jacket. I noticed it though, and I
couldn't stop myself from erupting in loud, hearty, and unrestrained
laughter as I painted it out to her. That issue quickly took priority over our
mini photo shoot, leaving me relieved and excited as I finally got to have my
swim time in the cascading water.
When I was young at the beach, my sister and I played volleyball by the
tranquil shoreline, stumbling across the wet, grainy, hot sand as we
frolicked. We were both complete amateurs at the game, unable to directly

commotion and scolded us harshly for losing our precious ball. I was very
crestfallen and angry, blaming it all on the turbulent Waves.

I leave the chilling Water, I continued to take my precious time, feeling
numb to the bone as I swam deeper and deeper, the sound of waves
deafening. The whole day had been chaotic, but at that moment, I felt almost
serene,
At the beach, I always sat with my family on our floral mat, eating snacks
as we laughed and talked, I remember having brought all kinds of delicacies,
all sweet and sour and savory, Eating and talking Weren't usually my
favorite activities at the beach, but those soon became traditions I
cherished. Feelings of both peace and euphoria filled me then, and I remember
it so vividly. Sometimes, I can almost feel myself back at the beach, the sun
beaming down on my family and I, as we ate until our tummies were full. I
Will never forget those sunny days at Grand Bend Beach,
