When I was young at the beach, I remember how I made a toilet out of sand. I called it a toilet sandcastle since it resembled one and it fulfilled its purpose. I felt proud and confident while making it. All I really did was gather a bunch of sand into a pile with three buckets filled with water right next to me and started wetting the sand to make it compact and so that I could start building it up. I started by making the base, then slowly going up and then making the toilet flapper. Once I was done with that, I grabbed a stick that was worthy enough to become part of my masterpiece and made it the flusher. I had a lot of fun constructing and staring at it, until it was time to leave, then, of course, I destroyed it.

When I was young at the beach, we would put down a few towels onto the sand and position our bags on the corners, so that the towels would not fly away in the refreshing and cool breeze. We would take out our snacks and drinks and hang out and play beach games, like volleyball, tag in the water, and abuse my siblings for fun. I could taste the salty chips, the sweetness of the cookies, and the fizziness of the soda.

When I was young at the beach, I would try to find or make big enough holes to bury my father in. I remember the one time I did that, I used the sand and water to make him a body that I turned into a mermaid. I gave him breasts, a mermaid tail, and arms with the help of my older sister. We would then try to find shells to put on his sand breasts. Once we had finished making his body, we took pictures of him and were really proud of ourselves with our hard work and how it turned out.

At the beach, I remember playing around in the water. My father would join us, pick us up in the water, and throw us as far and as high as he could into the water. My siblings and I loved it when he did that, so we would line up in the water, wait for our turn to be thrown, then come back to line up again. The experience was so much fun, we learned how to emerge from the shallow depths, float, and learn how to swim.
