Grand Bend Beach, ON - Katya A
When I was young at the beach, I remember arriving at our cozy wooden cottage and seeing my family and friends smiling and excited. We walked together to the warm, calm, sandy beach and swam in the cool, breezy, blue water until the sky slowly changed into beautiful colors at sunset. After that, we walked back to the cottage so everyone could take a hot, steamy shower and change into soft, comfortable pajamas.
Later, the parents started barbecuing juicy, cheesy burgers, and the smell filled the air. We all sat on the backyard deck, playing fun, competitive games and talking about random things. I helped my dad make a warm fire so we could roast marshmallows and make gooey, chocolatey s'mores. When it was finally time for bed, all the girls stayed in one room, laughing quietly and trying to stay awake.
When I was young at the beach, I heard waves crashing against the shore and people laughing nearby. I felt the warm, soft sand between my toes and smelled smoky barbecues mixed with salty ocean air. When I got too hot, I ran into the cool water to refresh myself. After getting out, a cold breeze brushed against my skin and made me shiver.
When I was young at the beach, it made me feel calm and happy. I could swim for hours or relax under the bright sun with my friends and family. All my stress disappeared, and my mind felt clear and peaceful. In those moments, I realized how lucky I was to spend time with the people I love.
At the beach, I always remember how close my family was. There were no arguments or judgment, only smiles and laughter. My parents were always cheerful, my sisters and I talked about everything, and we shared jokes with my younger brother. This place holds a special place in my heart and will always be a memory I treasure.
