My name is Kayijamahe Merci, and I was born in Rwanda and came to Canada just a few months ago. I don’t swim but I really enjoy the view, and the sound of water. My high school was right beside a small lake. I really enjoyed the view of the lake during sunset or sunrise. I was always afraid of swimming but I really enjoyed being near a lake. It felt comforting, and kind of put away all my thoughts and made me focus on the calmness of the lake and enjoy its air. I really enjoyed watching my sister swimming in a big lake fearlessly and I wish I could do that too. And I remember those good times we spent on the beach eating and telling stories.
